Employee Communication

A Page or a Project...

Let me help you get your writing or other employee communication project done quickly and done well.

My name is Bob Abbott, and I'll work with you to:

  • Identify the responses you want to your message. This is always the starting point of any effective employee communication project; articulating what it is we want our team members or employees to do in response to our message. In many cases, your goal will have something to do with improving productivity; I can help you with that goal, whether you're approaching it directly or indirectly.

  • Find the best channels or vehicles to reach your employees or team members; that can be anything from one-on-one meetings to printed newsletters. Once we articulate what we want (and perhaps how soon), we can make an educated choice about vehicles.

  • Create messages designed to get responses from them. Employee communication messages can be written in many 'voices', in many different lengths, and take many different tones. Again, we'll be guided by the response or response you want from your employees or team members.

More specifically, I can provide help in these employee communication areas:

  • Writing, whether a single document or on an ongoing basis. Do you need to write letters, prepare voice mails for widespread distribution, or put together an information package for new hire? I'll use my advanced communication tools to take care of these and many other types of employee communication. All it takes is a briefing on the desired response, the audience, and the channel; I'll get back to you with a first draft by the desired date.

  • Newsletter publishing. This is my core business, and I'd be pleased to work with you to develop and publish a newsletter. If your people need information to their jobs, a newsletter is likely the most efficient and effective medium, and should be a cornerstone of your employee communication strategy.

  • Communication consulting. Do you want or need another opinion, an outsider's take on what you've already done? Or do you need someone to lead or support a major team or employee communication project? I can help you, as I've helped many other managers communicate with their teams.

Who you're getting:

  • My name is Bob Abbott, and I've had a broad range of marketing, member, and employee communication experiences. My approach is based on my experience as a radio news writer and announcer, combined with my education: Master of Business Administration (MBA). Combining those two areas led to the authorship of A Manager's Guide to Newsletters: Communicating for Results; you can read the first three chapters (free) by clicking here:

  • Ownership Revolution: How Working People are Buying Up Big Business will be coming out in the near future. In the meantime, you can read free excerpts at:
